Project overview
What almost intrigues me the absolute most in this beautiful industry of ours, is coming up with concepts and stories. I think this is were the real magic lies and why I choose this industry at all. A good piece of storytelling, like any good art, resonates on a deep emotional level and that's the most powerful thing. I love developing a story from the beginning, finding a concept that makes sense and then thinking about that best visually serves furthering that story.

Challenge
And this can be completely different from project to project, client to client. The needs always vary, but what is universal is that the viewer should be surprised, emotionally invested and almost rewarded with a thoughtful concept. For my process this usually means learning as much as possible about why a project is made and what it wants to achieve. Digging deep into inspiration on how to translate that visually and then via rounds of feedback narrowing down with the client concepts and storyboards, finding the best fit.
Outcome
I think when done right, this process sets up a project for success. Everyone knows what it is, that we want to achieve and could voice their opinions throughout. It should still be flexible enough from here, that there is room for improvement, but this is what sketched storyboard is for. From here it can continue to an animatic - adding music, maybe a voice over and some timing and then continuing to more finished illustrations and animations for the final step.
